Jamaal Dyer is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in 2004,   Dyer was awarded a vocal music scholarship to attend The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Mass Communication with emphasis in Broadcast Journalism in 2008.

Dyer returned to Tulsa after graduating because he wanted to help the young people in his community overcome adversity, understand their worth and become successful.  Although his degree was in Journalism, he felt that his true calling was to help people. Thus, he continued to work in the family business, Dyer Memorial Chapel Incorporated and he began working at KIPP Tulsa College Preparatory School and Tulsa Job Corps Center.  Dyer obtained a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Langston University. Jamaal currently works for Tulsa Public Schools as the Student Success Coordinator. Jamaal is also involved in community, professional and religious organizations. Jamaal helped organize the “Tulsa Talks” conversation series designed to give the community an opportunity to engage in dialogue with city employees, local law enforcement, and legal representatives in hope to establish a rapport among all parties.  Dyer serves on the board of directors for the Greenwood Cultural Center and Tulsa Legacy Charter Schools. He is also proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated

For many years Jamaal has been known for his melodious baritone voice used to sing praises to God. His voice has been his ministry for over 15 years. However, on July 7, 2013 God wanted to use Jamaal’s voice in another way and that was to preach the Gospel.

On April 07, 2019, Rev. Dyer preached his first sermon as the proud Senior Pastor of Friendship Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Under his leadership, the church has experienced rapid spiritual and numerical growth. The church has expanded its outreach ministries and undergone a few renovations in a short period of time.  Pastor Dyer is committed to the church being a community friendly church. Reverend Dyer is married to the gorgeous; Mrs. Kimberley Dyer and they are the proud parents of Gracelyn Alise’ Dyer and Jamaal Harrison Dyer II.

Rev. Dyer’s life motto is:  “I just want to help somebody!  I want to encourage the saved and introduce sinners to the savior. If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain.”
